Jailbreaking is the process of removing restrictions in i OS, and allow root access to the i OS file system so that it can run software that has not been approved by Apple.
Note: Since this is a major i OS software update, I would strongly recommend doing it when you have time, so that if you run into any issues, like the soft bricking issue that affected some users, you have enough time to restore your i Phone.
