Symon himself gave only 2 stars to the food but the New York Times food critic stated that the sound level reached “piercing heights”.Food & Wine magazine even named Paris on “100 Tastes to try in 07” but it closed in 2007.After successful years the couple finally decided to sell it to Symon and Liz.Lola alone was given ravishing reviews one of which being America’s Best Restaurant in Gourmet magazine in its October 2000 issue.Eventually, Symon began working on the Cleveland restaurant scene at a Mediterranean restaurant named Player’s based in Lakewood.
He owns various restaurants including Lola, Lolita, The B-Spot and also his meat-centric dinner Michael Symon's Roast.
Symon later converted Lola into Lolita and reopened Lola in downtown Cleveland 2006.
For Lola and Lolita’s success, Symon was named Best Local Chef by Cleveland Magazine in 2007.
